Jobs, Jobs, Jobs...

It has been a couple of exciting days in the Young house, er uh, apartment!

Humm...which to tell you first?

1. Andy is doing great at his job and got a good commission go through!!

2. I had a job interview this past Tuesday for a non-profit organization that works with adults and children who have developmental disorders (autism, downs, mild mental retardation). It is basically a school for these children because their school districts cannot give them the special attention they need or have the staffing or resources to meet their needs. The school districts pay for these children to attend this non-profit school. I would be a teacher's assistant, but basically that means working one-on-one with the children everyday teaching them all sorts of things from hygiene to math. Fun times. (www.laradon.org)

3. I just got a call about another intervew! This time with another non-profit who works solely with autistic kids! I would be in their community outreach summer program, which would mean taking them swimming and horseback riding and things of the sort. So fun. I feel more at ease with autistic kiddos. I love 'em! I interview on Tuesday and could possibly start on Wednesday of next week! Yeah!  I hope I get this one! (www.aspenautism.org)

4. Last night was fun. We went swimming at 10pm and sat in the hot tub for a long while. So soothing! It was a good way to end a good day.

5. Tonight is game and icecream night!

6. Tomorrow is our friends wedding should be good times.

7. I plan on sleeping in this Saturday! Sounds delightful! Then we are hitting up Rib City (www.ribcity.com) and having some drinks with another couple! So fun.

::EDIT::

8. Believe it or not...just got another phone call for another interview!!! MY GOODNESS! This time it is at Highlands Behavioral Health Hospital being a Behavioral Health Counselor (aka Mental Health Counselor)! Pretty cool huh? Well...maybe I can do this AND the autistic thing for the summer and then work just this job throughout the school year, because it would be a PerDiem probably, which means for you non-health-care minded folk, "when needed"!

wOW...where were all these jobs 2 weeks ago!?

have a good one!

EXHAUSTED!

Thursday, May 24, 2007

I really need a good job! I am looking for one that is part time that pays really well so I can keep it during the school year. And I'm looking for another part time summer job that will just get me up to full time so I'm not sulking around the apt all day while Andy works his little heart out! Please pray for the right job to come along!!! (something worthwhile)

Also, next weekend we are moving to a new apartment!!! YEAH! I cannot tell you how SICK I am of living on campus at the Seminary. Let me tell you why:
  • I live in a handicap apt there for storage space is limited under sinks and counters ect... (so all your nasty stuff that you hide under your kitchen sink sticks out for all to see!)
  • I'm tired of not having room under my cabinets for tall things to sit on my counters (again because of handicap)
  • I really hate having to carry my laundry outside to the laundry room to wash it rain, snow, sleet, sun...you name it! Also...there are set times for us to do laundry....garrr!!!!!!
  • The people upstairs...ELEPHANTS I tell you!
  • Sound proof walls!??!?! Yeah I think NOT! I can hear when other people are taking a shower, running their dishwasher, their garbage disposal, flushing their toliet, I basically know the daily routines of all my adjoining neighbors!
  • Oh...and the CHILDREN! Let me tell you, there is no better birth control than obnoxious children running around almost running you over on their bikes everytime you walk down the sidewalk, and if you aren't getting run over you have to step over every toy you can imagine! It's really frustrating when you are either on crutches (like I was for 2 weeks) or carrying loads of groceries.
  • Breezeways - HATE THEM! When people walk through them talking you can hear them as if they are IN your living room! NO KIDDING! So just think of all those screaming children running around...NOT FUN!
I think I'm ready for home-ownership! At least it will help me with the rage I have against little people! (well not ALL little people...just the ones that live here....garrrr!!!)

Perks about new apartment:
  • 3rd floor - this could be good and bad. But at least no one is above us!!
  • Fireplace!
  • Balcony!
  • Pantry!
  • BIG garden tub!
  • bigger bedrooms!
  • bigger living room!
  • POOL!!!!
  • Fitness rec!
  • Hot tub!
  • Dry spa!
  • the best of all: WASHER AND DRYER!!!!!!!!!!
Once we get moved in I'll post pics of it!

Again...big thing right now...Pray for a JOB!
